Common Questions:
1.WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THIS PROCEDURE?
As we age, the dynamic movement of our facial muscles cause static wrinkles in our forehead and between our brows.
Botox works by inhibiting movement, or paralyzing, these muscles.
This cosmetic treatment is great for women and men who are looking to improve fine lines wrinkles of the face and prevent and reverse signs of aging.
2. HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
Dr. Parcells understands your time is valuable.
The first time you try a nonsurgical treatment in our office, plan to spend 30 minutes in the office to get an in-depth facial analysis, pre-procedural photographs and recommendations regarding your treatment.
Subsequent visits can be as quick as 15 minutes to accommodate your lunch break or other obligations.
3. IS THE PROCEDURE PAINFUL?
Botox injections are administered by a fine needle and may sting a bit but are relatively quick and tolerable.
For patients who are apprehensive we recommend coming a few minutes early to have some local numbing cream applied to the area.
4. ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
There should be very limited side-effects to this treatment when administered by a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon (such as Dr. Parcells) who has extensive experience administering Botox.
When you have the treatment on a regular basis, you will notice that the Botox treatment injection sites are the same and appreciate the benefits of Botox in maintaining a youthful appearance with appropriate use of facial expressions (no “frozen face” look).

For most patients, Dr. Parcells asks you to refrain from wearing makeup for a few hours and avoid other treatments (facials) for a few days after the procedure.
Depending on your medical history Dr. Parcells may make additional recommendations.

Botox takes approximately 2 weeks for full effect.
For most patients, Botox lasts approximately 12 weeks.
